Sakura Washington Monument "Happy Everything" Card
4.5" x 6.25" blank note card
2012 marks the centennial of Japan's gift of cherry trees to the United States. This "Happy Everything" card is blank inside and can be sent for any number of occasions.
The front depicts the Washington Monument in pagoda-mode with bright red and blue umbrellas (wagasa) around its base. Glorious forsythia and cherry trees are in bloom and clouds of large sakura (cherry blossoms) float above.
A haiku by Kobayashi Issa appears in type on the back of the card:
In the cherry blossom's shade
there's no such thing
as a stranger.
4.5" x 6.25" card is printed on heavy white stock from sustainable forests and comes with your choice of pink or white envelope. Sets of eight cards are packaged in a kraft box with a clear lid.
